| “What exactly is a Giclée?” you might be asking. A giclée is best known as a digital reproduction of an original artwork. The word “giclée” is French for “to spray” and is created when extremely fine droplets of pigment based archivable inks (up to a million micro droplets per second) are spurted onto heavy water- color paper or canvas. These droplets are controlled by computer so that the resolution of the printed image is much finer than conventional printing. The result is a print that replicates the finest detail and vibrancy of the artist's original image. |
