Northern Trust Bank Exhibition

Thanks to Northern Trust and their wonderful employees for providing such a lovely location for a summer exhibit. The show came down August 31st, and was a grand success. Great thanks to Ms. Jennie Bennett and Mr. Jim Brennan, the new owners of "Glory a' la Round" and to all of you who took a bit of my artwork home with you through the purchase of giclee prints and notecards.

"Quietly Unfurled"
acrylic on canvas 48x36"
SOLD One of my fondest memories of childhood is walking among the gorgeous irises, snapdragons and bleeding heart flowers planted by my dad at our home in Michigan. Irises and snapdragons have remained among my favorite flowers ever since and hold a very special place in my heart.
For those of you who enjoy my painting "Delicate Dance", my newest painting "Quietly Unfurled" may look familiar. Both examine the beauty and majesty of the purple iris. And 'yes', you can probably expect to see a painting inspired by a snapdragon sometime in the future!
"Quietly Unfurled" was revealed to a select group of collectors (those who had previously purchased either original paintings or giclees) in our "Preview Newsletter" last week. Within a day, it had been purchased by Mr. Jim Parkman of Houston, TX. Thanks so much to Mr. Parkman, founder of the Susan Kathleen Black Foundation, who continues to be a generous supporter of the arts. Please visit the Susan Kathleen Black Foundation website to find out more about the foundation and the "Blossom ~ Art of Flowers" exhibition they sponsor.

Arizona Lithographers 2008 Calendar

We were extremely flattered when Arizona Lithographers (who printed our beautiful notecards) requested to use an image of my painting "Ole!" in their 2008 promotional calendar! They should be available within the next month or so. | |
Fall 2007 Open Studio Tour Tucson Pima Arts Council
Susan and I are very excited to be participating in the Fall 2007 TPAC Open Studio Tour, a Tucson tradition for 20 years.
The annual Open Studio Tour features over 100 established and emerging artists who make Southern Arizona their home. The tour is free to the public. Guided tours are also available for a small fee through TPAC.
Tucson Pima Arts Council compiles and publishes a detailed program of the artists with maps to make finding us easy. This year the full-color printed program, designed by a local artist of course, includes a 14-month calendar featuring the participating artists' work. The program is also posted online in September, then published and distributed at various sites around the region in October and at artist studios during the tour.
Start your tour with a comprehensive exhibit. Preview work by each artist and plan your route.
- Reception: Thursday, November 8, 5 to 7pm
- Exhibition: Oct 20 to Nov 8, Tues-Sat, Noon to 5pm
- Location: Dinnerware Artspace, 264 E Congress St
