| This Mexican Gold Poppy was only one of thousands forming a field of wildflowers the spring of 2005 near Picacho Peak. An awe inspiring sight indeed, but even more delightful were the strong shadows being cast by the many stamen in each flower. This particular shadow evoked a feeling of playfulness and mirth. I was immediately reminded of Peter Pan’s mischievous shadow as it seemed to be attempting to thumb it’s nose at the flower and embark on an adventure of it’s own. |
